EA Summer Family Food Appeal 2021
21 June, 2021 - 09:00 to 8 July, 2021 - 17:00

EA’s Health and Wellbeing Champions Committee invite all staff to get involved in EA’s Summer Family Food Appeal 2021 from Monday 21 June to Thursday 8 July 2021.

The intention is to encourage and enable all staff to give back within the local community by donating food items via Food Banks. See Food Bank donation points below.

Food Banks are designed to support families who cannot afford the essentials in life. Between April 2020 and March 2021, 78,827 food parcels were provided by The Trussell Trust Food Banks to households within Northern Ireland. This was a 33% increase on the previous year. 40% of these food parcels were provided to children and young people.

How can I/ we help?

In two simple steps:

  1. On your next shop pick up an extra item(s) from the ‘shopping list’ on page 2.
  1. When you’re passing any of EA’s HQ buildings, drop your food item(s) into the Green Food Bank Crate/Box in the Reception Area.
  • Armagh Office – 3 Charlemont Place, The Mall, Armagh
  • Belfast Office – Academy Street, Belfast
  • Omagh Office – Hospital Road, Omagh
  • Ballee Office – Ballee Road, Ballymena
  • Dundonald Office – Grahamsbridge Road, Dundonald

Please note: Staff are reminded that you are required to wear face coverings when you enter all EA buildings. When entering the reception area to drop off your food item(s) please be mindful of social distancing, hand hygiene and do not stay any longer than 15 minutes. Face coverings will be available to staff in the Reception Area at all our offices. These protocols are put in place to protect you and others from the spread of COVID-19.

If you are concerned or unable to attend the available donation points you can still get involved by accessing information on your local Food Bank and how to help or donate in other ways by visiting: https://www.trusselltrust.org/

Following the closing date (8 July 2021) all items will be collected by local Food Banks. We will keep you informed of the difference you have made to children and young people and their families within our communities.

We know you want to help, that’s why we are making this happen.
