Time to Talk Day 2026
5 February, 2026 (All day)

Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation. It’s a day focused on encouraging open conversations about mental health and wellbeing.

In simple terms: It’s about making it easier for people to talk about how they’re feeling and helping reduce the stigma

Why is talking important?

Talking openly and honestly can be the first step towards better mental health for everyone. It can reduce stigma and help people feel comfortable enough to seek help when they need it.

Time to Talk Day is about encouraging open and honest conversations around mental health. It reminds us that talking about how we’re feeling doesn’t need to be complicated or formal — a simple conversation can make a real difference. By creating space to talk, we help reduce stigma, build understanding, and support one another’s wellbeing.

Talking about mental health can feel uncomfortable, but it doesn’t have to be. Time to Talk Day encourages everyone — friends, families, colleagues, and communities — to check in, listen, and connect.

Ways to get involved and start conversations:

  • Ask a simple question like “How are you really doing?”

  • Take time to listen without judgement or pressure to “fix” things

  • Share how you’re feeling, if you’re comfortable doing so

  • Check in with a colleague, friend, or family member

  • Create informal opportunities to talk, such as a coffee break or team catch-up

  • Signpost to support services and wellbeing resources where appropriate

Sometimes, just starting the conversation is enough.
