National Walking Month takes place every May across the UK and is led by the charity Living Streets. The campaign celebrates the many benefits of walking—boosting physical and mental wellbeing, reducing environmental impact, and helping people connect with their communities.

Throughout the month, people are encouraged to build more walking into their daily routines, whether that’s swapping short car journeys for a walk, taking a short walk at lunch, exploring local green spaces, or taking part in initiatives like the popular #Try20 challenge, which promotes adding just 20 minutes of walking each day.
