This World Book Day, why not discover how reading can support your health and wellbeing? Your local library is a great place to start.

From wellness advice and healthy recipes to fitness inspiration and reliable health information, Libraries NI offers a wide range of books to help you look after yourself. Our friendly staff are always happy to help you find the information you need.

Ask about our health collections, including Read Yourself Well and Shelf Help, which are specially selected to support physical and mental wellbeing. 

Reading Well for children recommends reading to help children understand their feelings and worries and cope with tough times. The books have been chosen by children, carers, health experts and librarians. They are endorsed by leading health organisations such as NHS England, Mind and the Royal College of GPs. 

You can also explore our free eMagazine service, with health and fitness titles available to download straight to your phone or tablet the same day they hit the shops. Popular titles include Women’s Health, Men’s Health and many more.
