British Nutrition Foundation - The Science of Dietary Fibre and Digestive Health (Midwives)
This course is for midwives and aims to explain the science behind the different types of dietary fibre, current UK intakes of fibre and the different foods that provide fibre in the diet. It also describes the health benefits of a fibre-rich diet, the benefits for pregnant women, and the practical ways that pregnant women can increase their fibre intake, including case studies.
Description
The course covers:
- Module 1 – The science of dietary fibre
- Module 2 – The health benefits of dietary fibre
- Module 3 – Case Studies
Each module has an end test, providing you with feedback on your progress. Further reading is also suggested. On successful completion of a final assessment, a personalised BNF certificate is created. (The final assessment may be repeated.)
This course has been accredited by the Royal College of Midwives (RCM). This course will take approximately 1-2 hours to complete. You can complete the course at your own pace – there is no time limit.
