Irish Heart Foundation - Stroke Support Service
The Irish Heart Foundation has launched a new telephone and online support service for stroke survivors who have been recently discharged from hospital during the coronavirus pandemic.
New telephone and online support for stroke patients
Returning home after stroke is difficult at any time, but never more so than during the COVID-19 pandemic. So, stroke patients being discharged from hospital now need extensive extra support.
There are also a number of stroke patients who may need ongoing support in their recovery irrespective of whether they are newly discharged or not. Therefore the service is open to anyone post-stroke regardless of where they are in their recovery journey.
The new telephone and online stroke support service has been developed by the Irish Heart Foundation and the HSE and is aimed at all stroke survivors who need support.
It is manned by a dedicated team of specialist staff at the Irish Heart Foundation who are available on the phone and online to answer any queries stroke patients may have and provide advice and information based on each individual patient’s need.
Call 01 6685001 or email support@irishheart.ie Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Further information may be found on our Stroke Support Services webpage.
