For most people, bereavement will be one of the most distressing experiences they will ever face. The grief felt when someone close dies can be overwhelming at times. The sense of pain and loss can strike very deep. The Covid 19 pandemic means that, whatever the cause of death, people are dealing with both grief and an unprecedented situation.

These are extraordinary times, bringing extra challenges to anyone who has been bereaved.

This webinar aims to help those in a supporting role address how best to help colleagues following a bereavement.

By the end of the webinar trainees will:

Have an understanding of loss and grief, bereavement models and factors affecting thegrieving process.

Have increased knowledge about how different factors can affect grief.

Understand how to communicate effectively and compassionately with bereaved people.

Have developed confidence talking about difficult and sensitive topics.

Be aware of the impact of grief on people and how to empathetically signpostindividuals for further support.

Understanding of the boundaries of their roles and how to look after themselves.

The webinar will be delivered by Cruse trainers and will last 2 to 2.5 hours with opportunities for discussions and questions.
