This campaign is a global celebration to mark the United Nations International Day of Happiness. It is coordinated by Action for Happiness, a non-profit movement of people from 160 countries, supported by a partnership of like-minded organisations.

How to get involved

Here are some ways to get involved in International Day of Happiness:

  1. Spread happiness: Do something kind for someone else, share positive messages on social media, or volunteer for a local charity to spread happiness and positivity.
  2. Reflect on your own happiness: Take time to reflect on what makes you happy, and make a plan to incorporate those things into your daily life.
  3. Celebrate with others: Host a happiness-themed party or event with friends, family, or coworkers to celebrate the day together.
  4. Learn about happiness: Read books or watch documentaries on the science of happiness and well-being, and share your newfound knowledge with others.

History of The International Day of Happiness

The United Nations declared March 20th as the International Day of Happiness in 2012, recognising the importance of happiness and well-being in promoting sustainable development and global peace. The day was first celebrated in 2013, and since then, it has become a global movement with millions of people around the world participating in activities to promote happiness and well-being.
