Getting The Treatment You Need
NHS England successfully treats hundreds of thousands of people with eye conditions every year. Even so, occasionally, blind or partially sighted people, and people at risk of sight loss, find it difficult to get the information or timely treatment they need, or are just not treated well.
Ask and Tell
Many eye conditions, like wet age-related macular degeneration, and glaucoma, need repeat check-ups and treatments to keep them under control. In today’s increasingly busy NHS, it’s important that patients have the confidence to make sure their follow-up appointments are made on time, so their sight isn’t put at risk.
We think that every patient should have their next appointment arranged before they leave their eye clinic, so that they can save the date. It’s also important that people do their bit and keep their appointments too.
