The Sleep Charity - Volunteering
Our vision is for everyone to be able to enjoy a good night’s sleep and that’s why volunteering is at the heart of what we do – it gets our message out louder and further in our community.
There are lots of way you can volunteer your time and skills to help the charity and we’ll be there to support you every step of the way. We couldn’t continue the work we do without your help.
Volunteer Sleep Practitioners
Our volunteer sleep practitioners support the most vulnerable families through online and telephone clinics and help spread the message about sleep support within communities. We also have a team of volunteers who man our live chat facility on our specialist Teen Sleep Hub.
Sleep Talkers
Do you want to be there when a sleep deprived mum wants to talk? Or what about a teen who doesn’t understand why they can’t fall asleep anymore? Be part of your local community and provide a vital support.
Our national Sleep Talkers training programme will be encouraging the nation to talk about sleep positively. We will be training volunteers to pass information on to people in their areas who are experiencing sleep issues and aims to reduce stigma around lack of sleep. We know that having sleep issues is common – up to 40% of the population suffer – and talking about it to somebody that understands helps to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Other volunteers
Over the years we have had the privilege of working with volunteers who have given us their time, skills and effort to make an incredible difference to the work that we do from reviewing and designing our corporate branding to developing our online training hub. Without them, we wouldn’t be where we are now so thank you.
