Bryony Roughan
My name is Bryony Roughan and since September 2018, I have been a teacher with the Language and Communication Service, based at Coleraine College. My interests include walking, reading and catching up with friends.
Having previously worked within a school setting and knowing everyone who worked there, joining such a large organisation was a big change for me. One of the main reasons for becoming a health and wellbeing champion was to help me feel more connected with everyone within the organisation as well as be in a position to encourage other people to feel connected and valued along the way as well. I wholeheartedly believe that we, the staff, are the heart of the Education Authority and when we feel valued and good about ourselves, this will be reflected back to our “customers”. Hopefully one of my roles will be to let staff know what courses/experiences are on offer to help enhance and maintain everyone’s overall health and wellbeing.
Another aspect I’m excited by is the giving back initiative as I feel there is so much I have to be thankful for in my life. Ideally, there will be a variety of projects on offer to inspire everyone to get involved and feel more a part of the EA community.
