Nicola McKeown
My name is Nicola Mc Keown, I am currently Acting Vice Principal of Christ the Redeemer Primary School in Lagmore, Belfast.
I strongly believe that a healthy mind and body are essential for a successful educational journey. In my role as the Well-being Lead, I have implemented various initiatives to create a supportive and nurturing environment for both pupils and staff within the school.
Outside of my wellbeing role, I am a dedicated and passionate educator. I aim to empower my pupils to become confident learners and independent thinkers, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to excel.
Throughout my 14 years at Christ the Redeemer Primary School, I have witnessed the positive impact that a focus on well-being can have on the entire school community. I am committed to continuing my work in promoting positive mental health and well-being, both within the school and beyond.
As a Wellbeing Champion, my goal is to actively contribute to the ongoing efforts aimed at enhancing the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of my colleagues within our school. The education sector faces growing challenges, including limited resources and increased demands, which can impact the dedicated workforce responsible for providing essential services to the community at large.
