World AIDS Day 01 December - GLEAM Lunch and Learn
The Education Authority's LGBT staff network hosted a Lunch and Learn event on Tuesday 1st Demember - the theme was 'Rock The Ribbon' to promote awareness for World Aids Day.
We were joined by Dr Richard O'Leary - a renowned storyteller and Coordinator of HERENI - an LGBT+ heritage project. Richard told a compelling story about his experiences of the HIV/AIDS epidemic during the 1980's and 1990's.
Francis Loughran (Chair of GLEAM) and Conor McGreevy (Vice-Chair of GLEAM) also presented some history behind World Aids Day and the statistics behind the epidemic. A recording of the Lunch and Learn event will be made available on the Lunch and Learn internal site.
