Exclusively for Business in the Community members, we are delighted to offer a new Link and Learn session aimed at supporting disability in the workplace.

1 in 4 people in Northern Ireland has a disability (NISRA, 2022). This includes physical disabilities, learning disabilities, sensory disabilities, hidden disabilities, and mental health disabilities

Delivered by pan-disability organisation Disability Action and public transport provider Translink , this Link & Learn session will give employers practical advice on how they can support and meet the needs of disabled people in the workplace.

Disability Action will provide advice on removing barriers to inclusion for disabled employees, focusing on the key areas of recruitment, job retention and career progression, and the benefits of an overall health and wellbeing approach.

A guest speaker from BITC member Translink will provide a case study of the policies and practices the company has implemented to proactively support and include colleagues who are disabled.
