Fire safety in the home

Fire safety is paramount to us and our loved ones in the home. Follow some simple tips to prevent fires in your home. You can also get free advice from your local fire and rescue service so if a fire does break out, you and others can get out quickly and safely.

 

  • Fit a smoke alarm and test it regularly
  • Plan an escape route and make a bedtime check
  • Don't overload sockets
  • Don't smoke in bed and keep lighters and matches away from children
  • Always place candles in a purpose-made candle holder,  don't place them near curtains
