Job share Guidelines

Flexible Retirement Procedure

This procedure applies to those staff who are members of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) (Northern Ireland).

Cycle 2 Work Scheme

To promote healthier journeys to work and to reduce environmental pollution, the 1999 Finance Act introduced an annual tax exemption which allows employers to loan cycles and cyclists safety equipment to employees as a tax free benefit.

The EA are pleased to continue our partnership with Halfords in a new and improved Cycle2Work Scheme.

The biggest change is the new £2,000 pound cap (increased from £1k).

Managing Attendance

The purpose of this policy and accompanying procedures is to establish a clear framework for managing absence at local level, supported by sound professional human resources advice.

Career Break Guidelines

The objectives of the career breaks scheme are to provide new job opportunities in the Education and Library Boards and facilitate employees who wish to take a career break.

A career break may be allowed for most purposes including further education, domestic responsibilities, starting one’s own business, maintaining a family/partner’s business or a stay abroad.
