Being an educator in the 21st Century is a privilege but a challenge. I have spent the last two decades in a position where I have been able to support and listen to those on the frontline – from my time as school teacher, supporting my colleagues, to being a teaching principal and the issues, both positive and negative, that come with that.
Through all the challenges and pressures that come with these roles I have developed a passion for supporting the mental health of colleagues in schools and within EA. I received and still receive an immense amount of support from personal friends, through professional agencies and onto professional colleagues that made me realise – mental health is something that we take for granted until it is damaged and then we panic.
“You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”
C.S. Lewis
