Using Self Compassion to Improve Wellbeing and Growth
9 October, 2025 - 10:00

Join Aoife O’Neill and Anne Rath from the Health and Wellbeing Team for this workshop which looks at how we can turn the kindness and care we show to others inwards.

Compassion is the ability to show empathy, love, and concern to people who are in difficulty. Many people can extend compassion toward others but find it difficult to extend the same compassion toward themselves.

It is common that we can be self-critical when we fail, make mistakes or feel inadequate, but giving ourselves the same kindness and compassion we would give a good friend can improve our mental and physical wellbeing and make us more resilient.

“A moment of self-compassion can change your entire day. A string of such moments can change the course of your life.” Christopher K. Germer

This workshop will introduce you to self- compassion, what it is, how to make the most of it, create the opportunity to experience some self-compassion exercises and offer some tools to keep the work going after the workshop.
