EA's Summer Family Food Appeal 2022

Workplace Health

We remain committed in driving forward staff initiatives that benefit all within the Education community and beyond. This reflects the ‘Giving Back’ theme of EA’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy.

EA’s Health and Wellbeing Champions Committee along with the Charity sub-committee invite all staff to get involved in EA’s Summer Family Food Appeal 2022 from Monday 13 June to Thursday 7 July 2022.

The intention is to encourage and enable all staff to give back within the local community by donating food items via Food Banks. See Food Bank donation points below.

Food Banks are designed to support families who cannot afford the essentials in life. Between April 2020 and March 2021, 78,827 food parcels were provided by The Trussell Trust Food Banks to households within Northern Ireland. This was a 33% increase on the previous year. 40% of these food parcels were provided to children and young people.

How can I/ we help?

In two simple steps:

  1. On your next shop pick up an extra item(s) from the ‘shopping list’ below

  1. When you’re passing any of EA’s HQ buildings, drop your food item(s) into the Green Food Bank Crate/Box in the Reception Area.

  • Armagh Office – 3 Charlemont Place, The Mall, Armagh
  • Belfast Office – Academy Street, Belfast
  • Omagh Office – Hospital Road, Omagh
  • Ballee Office – Ballee Road, Ballymena
  • Dundonald Office – Grahamsbridge Road, Dundonald

If you are unable to attend the available donation points you can still get involved by accessing information on your local Food Bank and how to help or donate in other ways by visiting: https://www.trusselltrust.org/

Following the closing date (7 July 2022) all items will be collected by local Food Banks. We will keep you informed of the difference you have made to children, young people and their families within our communities.
