Sober Spring

Alcohol Guidance

Sober Spring is your three-month break from alcohol. Break habits that don't make you happy, starting on 20 March 2023.

What is Sober Spring?

Sober Spring is a three-month alcohol-sabbatical running from 20 March to 20 June.

Sober Spring is free; you can sign up to receive weekly motivational emails with inspiration and advice from Millie Gooch, Alcohol Change UK Ambassadors, sober influencers and experts. It's the perfect follow-up challenge to Dry January. It's a route to changing your relationship with alcohol long-term, a way of trying out life alcohol-free, and a chance to throw off the pressure to drink for three whole months.

We're already deep in a sober revolution, with almost a third of 16-24 year olds now totally alcohol-free. The most recent data available from the Office of National Statistics found that one in five Brits are now teetotal.

Whether you want to break some habits and try out life alcohol-free, or kickstart your long-term sober life, Sober Spring is for you.

Who is Sober Spring for?

The sober-curious. Perhaps you’re not planning to go alcohol-free long-term, but you simply want to see what life is like without booze. Or maybe you're beginning to question whether your drinking takes away more than it gives, whether the negatives outweigh the positives, and whether you'd be happier if you didn't drink.

Already sober? You can take part too! If you're looking for a boost in motivation, or something extra to keep up your momentum, this is just the thing for you.

Is Sober Spring free?

Yes! It doesn't cost you a penny. You can sign up here to receive weekly motivational emails for no charge whatsoever.

Is there a Sober Spring app?

People can download a brilliant free app by Alcohol Change UK, Try Dry, to track their Sober Spring and the units, money and calories saved through not drinking.

I'm already sober, can I do Sober Spring?

Of course! If you're looking for a boost in motivation, or something extra to keep up your momentum, this is just the thing for you!
