Give Back and Support the EA Youth "We Care" Packs Appeal

Volunteering

The Health and Wellbeing Champions Committee are seeking your support this summer.

This support will take the form of “Care Packs". Our EA Youth Service have highlighted the growing need to provide children and young people aged 9 and above with personal care items, snacks and small games.

This initiative has strong links with the EA Youth Service's Eat Well Live Well Scheme.

We are inviting EA staff to make donations of items already identified as crucial to boosting self-esteem in our young people. These packs will be provided to our most disadvantaged local young people, at a time when we know they need it most.

This initiative forms part of 'Giving Back' theme within our Health and Wellbeing Strategy, which focuses on supporting charity and volunteering initiatives within the local community.

Items must be donated by Friday 14 August and we are facilitating collection points at the below locations.

Risk Assessment

A generic Risk Assessment has already been completed to ensure controls are in place at the drop of points these donations. If you only intend to drop off your donation at an EA site then a building access form does not need to be completed (i.e. a visit under 15 minutes). If you intend to remain on site to complete other work, staff are reminded that they must complete the building access form to record a visit of more than 15 minutes. Click here for the form.

Volunteering Opportunity

There is an opportunity for staff also to get involved in the preparation of the Care Packs at one of the EA Youth Service Main Hubs listed below. This will take place week commencing Monday 17 August for up to 2 hours a day. PPE will be provided on site.

Please note volunteers must obtain approval from their line manager before signing up.

Approved volunteers should get in contact with healthandwellbeing@eani.org.uk to sign up and receive more information.

The four locations are:

  • Taghnevan Youth Centre
  • Long Tower Youth Centre
  • Hammer Youth Centre
  • Ballykeel Youth Centre
