3 Mocktail Recipes for Dry January
Alcohol GuidanceIf you are taking part in Dry January but don't want to feel left out at the weekend, don't worry, we have some tasty mocktail recipes that you can make and with all the ingredients you'll need to be the host with the most for everyone!
Nojito
Ingredients - 1 tablespoon of sugar, small bunch of mint, the juice of 3 limes and soda water.
Methods - Muddle the sugar with leaves from the mint using a pestle and mortar (or use a small bowl and the end of a rolling pin). Then, put a handful of crushed ice into 2 tall glasses. Divide the lime juice between the glasses with the mint mix. Add a straw and top up with soda water.
Blood Orange Soda
Ingredients - Club soda, lime, small bunch of mint and blood orange syrup (strained blood orange juice blended with sugar).
Methods - Rub the inside of the glass with whatever herb you have on hand such as mint. Combine ingredients and stir. Finish with a hearty squeeze of fresh lime.
Shirley Temple
Ingredients - 40ml of ginger ale, 40ml pomegranate juice, 1.5 tablespoons of sugar, 1 lemon wedge.
Methods - Extract the juice from a pomegranate (remove seeds from a whole pomegranate and place in a sieve. Press down with the back of a spoon to extract the juice). Measure 40ml of the freshly sieved pomegranate juice into a tall glass. Add 1.5tsp sugar to the glass. Stir until the mixture is well combined. Add ice cubes to the glass and top up with Ginger Ale. Using a sharp knife, cut a wedge of fresh lemon on a chopping board. Squeeze and place into the glass.
