Can you eat healthy on a budget?

Healthy Diet / Savings

It can be harder to eat a healthy diet on a limited budget, but here are 8 tips that can help:

1. Plan meals and write a shopping list

2. Look for special offers

3. Is it really good value? Many supermarkets give you the cost per 100g so you can check and compare.

4. Go for own brand or value ranges

5. Make your meat go further - add extra beans, lentils and vegetables to dishes to make them go further and add nutrients

6. Choose canned fish - it's cheaper than fresh and has a long shelf life.

7. Include frozen and canned fruit and veg

8. Cook smart - reduce energy costs by cooking in bulk, keeping the lid on pots and cooking several dishes at once
