Porridge pot


We've found a way to liven up your morning oats with this delicious porridge recipe! We normally think of porridge as a winter warmer but we've found a way that you can enjoy it all year round!

We think this porridge recipe is a win! It's perfect for those early morning starts and with a cooking time of only 5 minutes there is no excuse for skipping this important meal!

Ingredients (Serves 1)

  • 60g / 2oz. of porridge oats
  • 4 tablespoons of semi-skimmed milk
  • 120ml / 4fl oz. of water
  • 1 small kiwi, peeled and chopped
  • 5 strawberries (75g / 2½oz.), chopped
  • 2 tablespoons of low-fat Greek yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon of flaked almonds

What you will need

  • Chopping board
  • Chopping knife
  • Cutlery
  • Mixing bowl
  1. Combine the porridge oats, milk and water in a bowl and microwave as per the porridge packet instructions.*
  2. When your porridge has cooked, remove from the microwave and stir in the Greek yoghurt and top with the freshly prepared fruit and almonds.

*Alternatively, if you do not have a microwave, combine the porridge oats, milk and water in a saucepan and cook over a low to medium heat, bringing it to the boil gradually and stirring all of the time.

Serving suggestions

Serve with fresh fruit and nuts.
