AMH Mental Health Training – April – June 2021

The EA Health & Wellbeing Team in partnership with AMH have arranged for a number of webinars to help support “healthy minds” and the mental health of all our staff and colleagues over the coming months.

Covid, Stress and Ways to Cope

The main aims of the Covid, Stress and Ways to Cope training are to provide an overview of stress and what causes it, whilst also equipping participants with strategies to both identify and cope with the stress of life during uncertain times.

Participants will learn and apply their knowledge through a series of interactive, thought-provoking and group discussion based activities.

Participants will also learn about stress and the difference between helpful pressure and unhelpful stress, and will also be provided with the opportunity to identify coping strategies and practice short moments of mindfulness.

The course is approx 1-1.5 hours

Dates include:-

  • Wednesday 14 April 3.00pm – 4.30pm
  • Friday 7 May 10.00am – 11.30am
  • Tuesday 1 June 2.00pm – 3.30pm

Mindful Manager

This course gives managers the tools required to identify issues staff may be having in the workplace and facilitate a solution before issues cause significant loss of productivity or absenteeism. The course will include:

  • Mindful Manager An introduction to the Mindful Manager model
  • The common mental health issues and suicide
  • Managing attendance and the difficult conversation

The course is approx 3-4 hours and has limited numbers.

  • Wednesday 5 May 1.00pm – 4.30pm
  • Thursday 3 June 9.30am – 1.00pm

Managing Stress Building Resilience

These bite-sized sessions will provide you with top-tips on becoming aware of your stress levels, reducing the stressors at this time and direct you to further support should you need it.

The session lasts approx 40 minutes and will look at:-

  • Introducing stress and understanding the difference between healthy pressure and stress;
  • The effect that COVID-19 is having on mental health across the UK;

  • Tuesday 25 May 10.00 am – 11.00am
  • Monday 21 June 3.00pm - 4.00pm

Mental Health Awareness

The aim of the Mental Health Awareness sessions are to highlight the main mental health issues and disorders and to give an overview of signs and symptoms. Participants also learn how to look after their own mental wellbeing.

The course is approx 2 hours and has limited numbers

Personal Resilience

This course aims to teach the best methods and techniques to better equip you to cope with the pressures and stresses of life. The course will examine:-

  • What is stress and what causes it
  • Definition of personal resilience
  • Examine ways in which our own behaviours and personalities can cause us stress

The course is approx 2 hours and has limited numbers.

  • Tuesday 27 April – 2.00pm – 4.00pm
  • Tuesday 11 May – 9.30am – 11.30am
  • Wednesday 9 June – 1.00pm – 3.00pm
